Hauraz prepares to open its first satellite children's centre - 'Shaquin'.
Since
Huaraz is by far our smallest city,
we have thought it enough to bring the children to our centre - but
our team have located a very poor community too far for this; and
so are opening a satellite. Bravo BP Huaraz! |
Garry
Campbell, from Dublin, our longest serving director so far.
along with his
revolving cast of talented volunteers, has maintained and built upon
the high standard of the Bruce Peru Children's Centre in Huaraz. |
January
2005 ..Mothers of Huaraz
children hold 4 fiestas to raise funds
for buying their children's school uniforms. Our
volunteers help.
Thank
you to the President of Rotary Club International of Huaraz, whose
members help sponsor some of the poorest children who attend the Bruce
Peru Children's Centre in Huaraz. Bruce and Ana Tere (founder and
President of Bruce Peru), visited Huaraz in late January, in part
to thank the Rotary for their support for our programme and our neediest
children. |

Our campaign: "DON'T FEEL
SORRY FOR STREET CHILDREN!" is beginning to pick up momentum in
centres where lots of international tourists are encountering Peru's
child laborers on a daily basis. The object of the
campaign is to recruit volunteers from the tourist population who
visit Peru each year, | |
This is how we help the very poorest children of Huaraz to
become better nourished, clothed, medicated and most importantly:
educated.
