Our return to the original
Campus of Bruce Peru
|
|
 |
We
left our beloved old colonial campus in the center of Trujillo, a
half block from the main square, we did so because we thought the
property was about to leave our possession. We were away for a little
over two months, and when we were forced to return (see
why), we were greeted by wonderful news. |

| |
In
the two months while we were away, our final judicial appeal to keep
the property was heard, and the result was inconclusive - meaning
we could stay until an unspecified time in the future. In addition
to this, the President of the association which has been trying to
break our lease and force us to leave the property (which we took
over as a ruin and restored), so they could rent it out for lots of
money; was deposed. The man who replaced him as new President of the
association turns out to be a good friend of Bruce Peru and our work.
It now looks certain that we can stay put in our dear old campus,
doing our projects for Trujillos poorest children, for at least one
year more. |
